Glossary of Equip ID Terms

Activity: The cleaning and/or procedure that gets performed (I.e. disinfection, repair maintenance)

Asset: The single location tags placed (I.e. table, chair, door)

Category: Collection of equipment types

Disinfection Intelligence Tag: Equip ID tags, placed in areas and on equipment, uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to validate disinfection services are performed correctly and on schedule

Dwell Time: Time spent in the same position, area, stage of a process, etc.

Equipment Intelligence: Content that optimizes compliance, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair services

Equipment Type: The specific asset/zone that is Tagged

Information Access Points: Points where Equip ID tags are affixed to physical equipment

Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS): A document that contains information on the potential health effects of exposure to chemicals, or other potentially dangerous substances, and on safe working procedures when handling chemical products

Standard Operating Procedure (SOP): A set of step-by-step instructions compiled by an organization to help workers carry out complex routine operations. SOPs aim to achieve efficiency, quality output, and uniformity of performance while reducing miscommunication and failure to comply with industry regulations

Site: The physical address where mechanical equipment is located

Site Tag: The tag associated with the overall site/building which should always be scanned upon entry

Tagnician: Tagnician's are service technicians, building engineers, and others, who create the equipment profile, marry the profile to the Equip ID tag and place the tag onto the equipment on site

Tagnology: The curation, application, and delivery of equipment-specific data, supportive content, and subject matter expertise for practical purposes, especially in the facilities management industry, via the Equip ID ecosystem

Tap: The act of holding a phone to the NFC reader to scan (similar to Apple Pay)

Tasks: The required steps that make up the activity (I.e. sanitize table surface and let dwell for 10 minutes)

Team Member: Equip ID mobile and web user

Trade: The high-level category of your space (I.e. HVAC, Plumbing, Janitorial)

Zone: A physical part of a location such as a room (break room, bathroom) or an area like Front of House or Exterior - Zone's may have other tagged Assets within them
