Equip ID Device Requirements
The Equip ID App uses Near Field Communication (NFC) which is central for transferring data between two devices. When you scan a Tag in the app, NFC is the function that makes this possible. To see how to enable this on your phone, see here.
Why NFC over QR?
An essential component of the Equip ID solution is NFC tags. Because NFC transactions cannot be duplicated, it's a clear choice over barcodes or QR codes. Most modern smartphones are equipped with NFC and make secure transactions with tools like Apply Pay or Samsung Pay.
